SO bad it's good, or so bad it's horrific? You decide.

Okay, stupid question. Does this Sharknado bullshit have something to do with the Pittsburgh Pie Rats?

No.
This is seriously the worst movie ever. Ever ever ever. Ever.
Seriously, as a climax? There's this dude who has a bright idea: "We'll just make these Molotov cocktails and throw them in the tornado! That way, the heat disperses the hot/cold front that created the tornado, effectively killing it!"
Instead of smacking the dude and telling him that it's an absolutely stupid idea, everybody goes along with it. And then, two people fly up to the tornado. In a helicopter.
And the helicopter survives.

What should have happened is that the firebombs end up igniting the tornado (because fuck science) and have it become a FIRE SHARKNADO

I want to see the film according to Mikey, that would be an great ending to one of those films.
Of course this can only be a better film then 2012 was.

Um.... have you seen any other Asylum movies?
They're one of those B-grade companies that self-consciously try to create and/or otherwise pimp movies that want to be Ed Wood movies only without the shambolic charm.
And yes, I consider Ed Wood the benchmark of "so-bad-it's-good" cinema.

Saw this on the night it premiered. Probably wouldn't have sat through it all if I weren't actively mocking it with friends. The inconsistent lighting, the terrible dialogue, the sheer stupidity of it all....I love bad movies, but this was just "so bad, it's terrible" for me.

Let's see if you still feel that way after sitting through the train wreck known as Def-Con IV or Michael Anderson's Millennium, the blatant butchering of a great John Varley short story. Sharknado at its worst doesn't even come close to being as horrendous as these two cinematic abominations.

Ed Wood is amazing and I love him <3 <3 <3
But yeah, Asylum specializes in making cheap pap, half the time they churn out blatant mockbusters (Sunday School Musical?!, Snakes on a Train?!?!) and the other half they try to appeal to the crowd that loves bad movies by throwing down with concepts so absurd that people just have to see them (Mega Shark Versus Crocosaurus, 2-Headed Shark Attack (they love sharks)). Sharknado has thus far gotten more, um, "groundswell" than any of their other movies, but it is nothing new.
I am not sure comparing them to Ed Wood is apt; they are more like Roger Corman, but without the original thought.
