Just saw this one and it looks p rad, it does not look like they are going to meet their goal though. Probably because they are only putting together a pitch with the money and there is no guarantee it will be made even if it passes. Shame, because it really looks cool, I love stop motion leik woah and it has a lot of people who worked on Coraline attached to it.

A strong possibility! The Kickstarter makes it sound like they were sort of planning to make more eventually, but the demand was high enough that they decided crowdfunding would be faster and better than the usual routes for drumming up cash, which naturally would be even harder and slower due to the show not having a 'safe' demographic.

From what I understand getting the money together to do non-typical stuff through the traditional methods is progressively getting harder, although I am only repeating what I have heard. Certainly there is a lot of real same-y shit in theaters and on TV, but there are some weirder things that make it up as well so idk. I am not sure the phenom of people putting their money on safe bets is even worse now than in the past, but then again I know a guy who can name like 2 dozen dumb cartoons from the early 90s that only had a handful of episodes I cannot even remember so maybe it was easier to secure funds.

Goodness knows it is hard to look at the past and judge it honestly, stuff might have seemed more new and interesting then because I was young and dumb...

Uh from what I can tell she shipped around 75% of the kickstarter awards and came out as trans and now refuses to send any of the rest because he opposes capitalism or some shit? IDK man, but he said for every complaint you send he burns another book and it's your fault for liking his work and wanting material objects anyway, god.
