Here we have a mercifully short fanfic where absolutely NO letter is capitalized, except for the brief capslock here:

Seriously, WHAT. Never mind that the story is garbage, but come on! If you can capitalize a whole WORD in CAPSLOCK, what the hell is wrong with using caps PROPERLY?

also they are using chatspeak sprinkled into this fic!

They also do something that appears in the first quote above, which is use @ for "at". Dear GOD WHY.

I swear these kids should have their mobile texting devices confiscated until they learn how to write properly, if they're going to churn out abominations like this.

Someone not using proper capitalization bugs me. I know they think what's the big deal you can still read and understand the story, but appearance is important.
The presentation of the sory makes a big difference whether people realize it or not. If a story is grammatically correct, has correct punctuation, and capitalization I'm going to look at it more optimistically.
Also, if the author doesn't care enough about the story to put in a little time and not use chat speak then why should the reader?

Neither have I, and I've seen a lot of lazy textspeak shortcuts in fic. This and @ by far takes the cake.

This is just one step from rolling your forehead on the keyboard and calling it a novel.
