This all sounds alright, now, right? Well not quite. You see, the girls are sorted into two categories: "flirty" or "dirty", depending on what sort of gaming experience you want.

Remember, this is supposedly just for playing checkers.

I think this review demonstrates the problem with this premise:

My thoughts are that it's just a further fetishization and objectification of women who play games. Basically, it's saying that they're so rare and weird (because we all know that girls don't play computer/video games) that they need to be codified as some sort of rare, strange sex object. The "paying a person to play, talk, and flirt with you" just because they're a member of the opposite sex is kinda weird, too. Then again, I guess it's no stranger than web-cam stuff or paysites.

Didn't dial-a-porns start offering a better version of this service decades ago?

As much as this guy is a pathetic loser, this is a legit complaint, IMHO. If I you are being paid to flirt with a guy over the internet you should probably actually do that. Do not get me wrong, this is a pretty messed up service they are offering here, and my girl gamer side is not super happy about it (but then my girl gamer side is in a constant state of blind rage because she is still recieving issues of Maxim), but I doubt the ladies who talk to you on sex hotlines tell you all about their boyfriends. Unless you are into that sort of thing, which is OK too I guess.

IDK, maybe the problem lies with the concept of a 'flirty' setting. With straight up sex-chat there is a certain sense of honesty. Paying to have someone flirt with you over a video game is a bit more... creepy.

I'm really trying to get outraged over this, but I just can't. Is it sexist? Yep, but I'm willing to bet they're already getting testing together to see if they have a niche to fill for having good-looking men perform the same service. Sex sells. Always has.

And besides that, dude had a legitimate complaint. He paid for a service, and not a perceived one, this was the girl's actual job, and she did not hold up her end of the bargain, which makes me think the morons in charge need to have an actual hiring and screening process. Pathetic as you may think it is, phone sex is an actual job that requires some training and qualifications, and really isn't something anyone can do.

Gotta agree with those that said that the dude has a legitimate complaint. If she's being paid to be flirty (and one would assume she knows exactly what she's being paid to do), being a mood killer isn't exactly in her job description. Sounds more like this woman wasn't entirely comfortable with the concept of being paid to be flirty with other guys but wanted the money regardless. She shouldn't be forced to be flirty, of course, but if it's specifically what she's being paid to do, if she doesn't want to do it she shouldn't have taken the job in the first place.

Agreed. "Flirty" implies that she's going to flirt, not be a total buzzkill. I'd be pissed off too, if I was paying for a "flirty" experience and didn't get what I'd paid for.

As pathetic as this is, I kind of want to sign up. Getting paid to do shit I'd normally do sounds like a pretty sweet deal. I do wonder if they'd allow say, a Trap (like me) to join as a "Playdate"
