This is the Wiimote Playstation Move.


Sure, I'll admit that the motion sensors in the Sixaxis sucks balls, but seriously, if Sony wanted to create their own Motion-specific controller, you'd have thought that they'd show even a bit of imagination...

Aw well.

This guy however, has written an atcitle on how the Move is not a Wiimote.

Hell, one of the first titles to use it is freaking SOCOM 4!

Here's a thing that I found interesting too:

Anyway, the button layouts/shapes on the two sticks are now direct ripoffs of a projector remote and an RCA universal TV remote respectively. WAY TO FAIL AT INNOVATE

I'm not sure I understand exactly what Sony think they're doing with this. I thought the target demographic for the PS3 was those SRS BSNS gamers who wouldn't be seen dead twirling a controller round like a demented windmill.

Let's do the math here, shall we?

Wii Remote: D-pad + A + plus button + minus button + 1 + 2 + home + B = 8 buttons

PlayStation Move: Home + trigger + 5 other buttons = 7 buttons

Which means...1 button difference. How exactly is this so much more streamlined and so much less confusing?

Because a charge station for the Wii Remote is such a hard thing to get.

I've had one since 2007. Unfortunately one of my battery packs malfunctioned. But then I don't play my Wii much anyway, and even less with two players.

(That wasn't meant as a jab at Nintendo, I haven't had much time to play games period since the semester began.)

It's still a minor pain in the backside, one more thing to buy, and one more bit of equipment hanging around the house. Between the battery-chomping cordless mouse and the mp3 player that won't charge off anything other than a live computer I've had to deal with both those issues (that phrasing makes it sound like such a hardship...), and with the amount of electronic equipment in the average house it would be nice if more things just worked.
