| I posted this in antidotes, as it's quite a lovely nerdy idea. Can simulaneous prayer take God offline? - Quote :
- This is a call to all non-believers and advocates for freedom of speech to join us in a global co-ordinated minute of prayer with the aim of inundating God (in this context, the Christian god, God, as distinct from the Greek god, Zeus, the Egyptian god, Ra etc etc) with so many useless prayers that it causes his divineness to go offline as as result of our own DDOS ('Divine' Denial of Service).
The prayer minute will be at exactly 8pm (Eastern Standard Time) and 9am (Greenwich Mean Time) on Sunday 8 November 2009. Quite frankly, I wonder what would happen if it worked?

| Our father who art in heaven, Hallowed by thy huh? Dee, dee, dee. Please hold the prayer, while we try to connect you. The deity you are praying to, knows you are waiting.

| I dunno. I mean, wouldn't God have the best connection ever? Kinda reminds me of that "Can God make a sandwich so big that even he can't eat it?" question. | |

And how would you know the difference? Helicopters falling out of the sky. That those things fly can only be evidence of the supernatural.

| This reminds me of my main mental with Satanism. Your only canon source says he has lost, and will continue till lose aside from the thousand-year reign. It's the same deal. If there's no God, you've wasted your time, but if there is a God, you probably just irritated him, if it even does anything. Further, a DoS is caused by having more requests of a server than it can handle. God, being Omnipotent, would have no such limit.
