About: British 20-somethings get themselves into paranormal trouble.
Audience: Surprisingly sharp writing and amusing characters keeps this from being just another Buffy clone. Toys with some interesting ideas and the characters go through a good amount of growth before the end. Some of them are downright unrecognizable. Note that Scary Go Round is the first comic, which is completed and in the archives, and Bad Machinery is the new one, currently being updated.
Start Where? To be honest, the first few chapters are nothing special. I can't quite pinpoint a place where everything (the art, the writing, the characters) take an upturn but somewhere along the way the artist hits his stride and everything gets much, much better.

I tried reading this. Honestly, I did. I skipped past the blurry pages at the beginning that gave me a headache trying to read. I tried to look past the hideous art style, highlighted by the artist's vague understanding of Photoshop. I even blinded myself to the grossly unfunny stereotypes present in every strip.

And then I realized that that's all this comic was. I'm sorry. How is this funny?

Hey guys! I found the ACTUAL antidote webcomics page! Sorry for wasting your time. I am a newb, of course. I shall make up for it by submitting JL8.

This webcomic is one of my favorites by far. Better than Homestuck, in my opinion.

It's about: The Justice League...as kids going to school!

Why the hell should I care? Well, it has a lot of clever references to the comics, for one thing. It's got a lot of heart to it, it's often funny. It's actually got some dramatic moments, too. The only problem is that it's only started just a while ago, and the strips are fairly short, so it is taking FOREVER to get through the interesting second story arc (Diana's birthday party).

Do I need to be a comic book fan to enjoy this? No.

Achewood for all of my web comic needs. The dialogue style is unique and many of the arcs center around surreal/magical realism delivered in simple, vectored black and white. It is a masterpiece and deserves an entire college class about it. Though Onstad has been on an extensive hiatus, there is still well over a decade of material, side projects, etc. to look at every year or two with a new set of eyes... He's also trying to make it into an animated series and has been pitching it around to some of the networks.
