Yeah, I mean no reputable news source, disreputable news sources, or even Google claims to be able to confirm it, better ask some dorks on a forum in the corner of the internet. But really, I doubt it. I mean, if you have an inoperable brain tumor, the proper method of suicide is to shoot yourself in the head. Send that fucking tumor straight to hell. - Freezer wrote:

I think I remember her from some Bob Hope movie my dad was watching once. Plus, Peter Griffin's mother sounds exactly like her. Never bothered to look it up if it was her or if it was just Sethy Mac mimicking it.

I knew she was in other things... ... ...I just don't recall from where. ETA: Wasn't she in Golden Girls?

Yep, according to IMDB, she was the voice of Peter's mother.

| So, this just popped up while I'm waiting at the airport. He's more of a legend and monumental American figure than celebrity as such, but:
Neil Armstrong dead at 82.
No further details yet, though.

Only other details I've seen have been that it was cardiovascular-related, possibly connected to surgery he had a week ago or so. But yes, a new thread will likely be needed.

| At first I was a bit skeptical - or in denial, take your pick - but it looks it's been confirmed. Michael Clarke Duncan passed away as of September 3rd, 2012., at age 54. This sucks. I hadn't even realised that he had health issues. | |

| Well, fuck. I knew he'd had a heart attack, but the reports seemed to indicate that it was a minor one. And then they said he was still in the hospital three weeks later, and I thought, "Well...maybe he's just one of those people who don't heal as quickly." And THEN there weren't any further reports, so I thought, "No news must be good news, right?"
Could his height have caused health problems, maybe?
One movie that he was in that always seems to get left out is Talladega Nights. It's one of my family's favorites.

He was a co-presenter on a BBC Children's nature programme called "The Really Wild Show" that had it's first episode in 1986 and it's last in 2006. That's a 20-year run. My brother and I used to watch it pretty much every week.

| Art Modell died. No link because fuck you I don't Google. I'm better than that.
Many of you will know Art Modell as the Second Most Hated Man in Cleveland History (behind LeBabby James) for his actions in mismanaging the Cleveland Browns into oblivion for decades. Due to Browns fans' constant whining, he decided to troll them by actually making the team good for once in its sad history, and then moved them to Baltimore and won a championship there.
Ohio still hasn't won a pro sports championship since the '64 Browns.
Truly, Art Modell was a God amongst men and we will never forget his dedication to increasing the suicide rate in Cleveland.

If you actually believe that, you've never spoken to someone from Cleveland.

If you actually believe that, you've never spoken to someone from Cleveland. To be honest, I try to stay away from that hole in the ground and the depressed mongoloids that inhabit it. I can just feel a heat radiate forth from Cleveland whenever Art modell was mentioned. At least, I used to. Maybe after LeBrick and Art's death, Cleveland has found something better to bitch about. - Freezer wrote:
