| What are the worst usernames you've ever seen
Habbo Hotel usernams don't count because then it'd just be too easy

| I saw a username that went like this: "my forums @ [name of forum site]", I thought it must be an admin account but the admin said it was nothing to do with him. Weird. | |

| I remember a similar thread on GAFF where everyone "hated on" a type of usernames that was basically their own... I will refrain from starting that all over.
I swear.
Generally, I don't like numbers in usernames. I mean, ok, if they are there to actually say something; like something ending in 007 or substituting a word because you don't have enough spaces, I get that. I hate names like sexigurl1989 though. With the fire of a thousand disapproving looks.

Sorry grumbles. Once you brought it up I couldn't resist

| What I find...amusing is when someone has a username that is easily mistaken for something else, or has a lot of numbers or letter combinations that are not very memorable or recognizable to many people ("007" is recognizable to many. "810003955" is not), but then complains when people type their name wrong or mistakes it for something else. | |

| I hate usernames that have unnecessary numbers. I mean, okay, if you really really want a certain username and it's taken, I get adding a number at the end so you can get the name. I even get it when the number has a certain meaning (such as a joke or reference, not your birth year). I also hate overly shiny or mystical names like "starbrightaurora" or something. | |

| It's funny, but now that employers are asking for e-mail addresses and the like people are finding out that that really nifty screename they use for their e-mail address may not be so hot on a resume. | |

| I've got one specifically for employers with my real name as my address, though my email isn't too bad. I mean, seeing how it's a poetry reference, I assume that if someone recognises the reference it would make me look SMRTer than not having it. | |

| I quickly learned not to use the number 69. It gives people bad ideas. I used it because my parents were married in 1969. I use 75 for lj because I was born in 1975. 31 is from my old college id number. The admin later let people pick their own user id, but by then I was used to 31 so I kept it. | |

| I hate flowery made-up Elvish type names, like "Azaeleiadora", for instance. On a scale of one to horrible, they are fucking horrible. And usually the people who have them are a pain in the ass. I mean, there are some of you that have that type of name that I like very much. I'll leave it up to you to wonder whether I mean you or not. | |

| As with the others before me, I dislike names with excessive or unnecessary numbers. Also, names with sexy, honey, chick, baby, etc. I was in charge of calling resumes for a company a few months ago, and the number of emails and usernames that looked like 'sexybabyhunni69' was amazing. Classy and professional. | |

My e-mail addresses are a Monty Python reference and a Batman reference with my name shoehorned in. I will never get hired anywhere else ever. I motion that people with 666 in their usernames are usually annoying and terrible people.

| I used to keep my school email for resumes, but they changed mail servers and I never got it to work again. I don't have one that I would use for that purpose now. | |

Which is exactly why I keep a separate, formal address strictly for important stuff like resumes and taxes. To answer the question: I have yet to meet someone worth talking to who uses the "x_mynamehere_x" format. Or really, any sort of bracketing device.

| My first username was DeLIRiUM_dIRgE.
Choosing a username at eleven years old is a terrible thing to do.
okay, maybe twelve. MAYBE.

Since the first person I can remember with 666 in their username is some guy named maldoror666 who liked advertising his stupid comic everywhere, going on about how deep it supposedly was, getting hostile/stupid to anyone who criticised it, and so on, I think you may be on to something.

I was in charge of calling resumes for a company a few months ago, and the number of emails and usernames that looked like 'sexybabyhunni69' was amazing. Classy and professional. This. I used to get people's emails to notify them of when their special orders came in. Let me tell you how much I enjoyed the 45 year old woman with badly bleached hair, tangerine lipstick, and pants so low I could see her hysterectomy scar giving me the email address along the lines of sexigurl21@[provider]. I also would really rather people didn't use their fap-material as their username. Like the neckbearded thirty year old 'hentaifr34k' or, I shit you not, 'Cum0nmytits38.' D:

| Well, IMO there are really two types of usernames that make me want to run away. The first is xX[whatever name they pick]Xx and the other is typed with alternating capital letters (LiKe ThIs.) The people with xXetc. remind me a lot of Chris Crocker. | |

| ^ Agreed. As Marvin would say, a metric fuckton of users on Maple Story have their names bordered by or beginning with xX and Xx or sTuPiDlY cApItAlIzEd usernames. My first usernames were LazerTH and Emess, the former because that's the name of my character in the Sonic TH universe, so it's still my author name on fanfiction.net and fictionpress.com. The latter, because I meant it to be a literal pronounciation of my initials M.S., but other people favoured "Electronic Mess" Current username because that's my nickname IRL. I also go by bishopmanny, but that's on YouTube and Maple Story. | |

| I've tried to stick to three specific usernames. Mogatrat for fantasy, Electron Blue for sci-fi/shooters, and DreadedSoul for when those don't seem to apply. As you may have noticed, what I care about is 1-2 easily pronouncable (see following chart) words capitalized and appropriate to a theme of the user. Xx_(name)_xX is good because is lets me know the theme of the user is 'unlikable fuckbed'. Also this, for mulitplayer shooters: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |
