This just seems a very awesome idea.
Dumbledore's Army and the Year of Darkness is the
best "What happened @ Hogwarts during Year 7?" fic I've found. Well-written and well-characterized, it follows Neville, Ginny, and the other students who are attending Hogwarts while Harry and co. go off looking for Horcruxes. Want an idea of how they broke into Snape's office to get the sword? That's in there. So is the reason Neville is scarred, and a description of what life at Hogwarts was like under Snape's direction.
