Wow, these are just stunning. I think what I appreciate most is that the judges (or whoever it was) thought not just about images that were pretty. They introduce us not just to the wonder of nature, but the brutality of it and humanity's role alongside it. There's photos in there with more than visual appeal as well, many of them have amazing stories behind them, or the photos themselves have served to influence history.
